Yukon Moose Hunting
Alaska Yukon Moose Hunts in Yukon, Canada
Alaska Yukon moose hunts take
place in over 2.5 million acres throughout the MacMillan River
area. Our moose hunting area maintains the highest population
of Alaska Yukon moose in the Yukon. We hunt in over 20 established
horse and boat camps. Our clients often harvest some of the
best Alaska Yukon Moose in the territory because of the moose
population, camp setups, and our hunting methods.
Horse Camp Trophy Yukon Moose Hunts
Yukon moose hunts begin the last week of August. At this time
the bulls are at higher elevations where air temperatures are
cooler and timber cover is less dense. These moose hunts include
daily rides from camp to glass for trophy bull moose as they
browse and bed along the timberline and open meadows. Once a
suitable moose is spotted the hunter and guide stalk to within
range. By mid September the Alaska Yukon moose will respond
to some moose calling tactics.
Boat Camp Trophy Yukon Moose Hunts
Riverboat and lake boat Yukon moose hunts run from mid September
to early October. This is the prime rut period for the Yukon
moose in the MacMillan River area. Daily moose hunts include
boat travel along the shoreline and short walks into marshy
and open areas along the watercourses. Several calling setups
are done in attempt to draw a large bull from the heavy cover
into suitable shooting range.
Our Yukon moose hunting trips are 12 days with 10 full days
of hunting, and offer great opportunities for hunting other
species.
