Yukon Mountain Caribou Hunting
Mountain caribou hunts in Yukon, Canada
MacMillan River Adventures offers
mountain caribou hunting by horseback and backpack. Due to the
tremendous health, stability, and population of the Tay River
mountain caribou in our hunting area you have an opportunity
to see some trophy class caribou.
Our Yukon mountain caribou hunts take place from late August
until the end of September from our horse camps or backpack
spike camps.
The Yukon mountain caribou spend late summer and fall near the
mountain tops and in the high alpine meadows along timberline.
Daily horseback rides are taken to higher elevations. These
horseback caribou hunts allow you ride out to remote locations
and cover a large hunting area. You may also backpack hunt mountain
caribou from a spike camp. We will access the hunting area by
horseback or plane and walk to the high ground and open areas
to hunt the trophy caribou.
Regardless which trophy caribou hunt you choose we use the same
method of hunting. We glass for trophy caribou in the open areas
and once a suitable caribou is spotted the hunter and guide
stalk to within range.
Our Yukon mountain caribou hunting trips are 12 days with 10
full days of hunting, and offer great opportunities for hunting
other species. Mountain caribou hunts are a great addition to
our high country stone sheep and Alaska Yukon moose hunts.
If you are looking for a trophy Mountain caribou, then book
your next hunting trip with MacMillan River Adventures.
